I've been consuming a lot of negative calorie foods from lunch onwards recently, but I'm wondering if negative calorie foods make my metabolism work as hard as other food does. Two pounds of steak should keep my metabolism at the same level of quality as two pounds of fruit/vegs should, right?
Since negative calorie foods get their quality by forcing the body to work harder to break them down, they should be better for the metabolism, no?
I'm wondering this, because I'm (possibly overreacting here) thinking that when I emerge from my diet and start eating less fruit, replacing it with other sorts of meals, that my metabolism won't be able to handle the difference, and I'll gain some weight back.
(Yes, I am working out regularly.)
