  • Taking punches and kicks

Well there was this thing called fight science on youtube and it said something about conditioning bones. When the punch something your knuckles become tougher or something and next time when you punch something hard it won't hurt as much.

Well i was wondering if there was some type of conditioning to strengthen the whole body so you can take in lots of punches or reduce the pain of punches. eg someone throws a haymaker right at your ribs but it doesnt hurt.

Its kinda hard to explain. Theres a shaolin monk video on youtube that shows something like it. It trains you body to be hard as a rock so you won'tfeel pain. You heard the saying rock hard abs right? Or 'abs of steel? How can i have a rock hard body? I don't want muscle, i want to not get hurt by punches or at the very least reduce the damage of attacks.

Sorry if its a bit complicated.....

well my good friend it is not complicated at all. During a monks life they are put through conditioning just like you had mentioned earlier. the conditioning is a series of punctures to each nerve to get there nerves numb. after that they endor the next few years of non stop hours of abuse by there trianers ofcorse. what is done is trainers useing weapons or body parts to hit the the one in trainning so that when they are older there bodys will be able to embare more pain then the average human body. If you were to try this process it would take around 20 full years of conditioning and a dreadfuly high cost of $810,950,733.47. i hope this imformatiion has answered you question.over and out.

You need a good understanding of body mechanics, as well as a very good understanding of what your range is in a fight.

There are various ranges, and the proper "weapons" to use in those ranges.

Once you understand this you can gauge where and how to move to avoid most attacks.

Just to make what i said clearer an example is: punch yourself moderately hard on any part of your body beside groin. It hurts a bit. Now tense the part with muscle and punch it. you can barely feel it now. Well i want to achieve this state the whole time even when not in a fight. I want to have a really hard body i mean. Lol its confusing.

Hit a cinder block with a sledge hammer and notice what happens.

Then hit a tractor tire with the same sledge.

I would concentrate on learning how to fight smarter, not tougher.

Well i dont necessarily mean no damage done at all. I just mean is it possible to take in more punches and kicks then and average person? And is there a way to achieve this?

Yes, of course there is, anyone who spars hard contact regularly will have increased their ability to take a hit, both through being able to take a hit and being able to roll with a punch. To a large extent, it's as simple as that. Take a martial art that does hard sparring, and spar. I agree on the excellent advice above that you should spend your time concentrating on not getting hit; but once you start sparring the practice for getting hit will come anyway, in abundance, and your body will absolutely get conditioned to it.
