  • Nutrition for kids?

    All parents want their children to be healthy. As elementary school aged children go through remarkable physical changes of all kinds, their food intake becomes a critical aspect of this growth and development. Recent research shows that nourishing food not only makes a child healthier, it makes him emotionally more stable, and it improves school performance. It appears then that paying attention to our children's diets pays high dividends. If only our children thought so, too! Because children tend to rank their parents' views on food along with their unpopular views on curfews, rock music, hair styles, etc., it is up to the parents to, first of all, be clever about insinuating nutritious foods into the family menus and, secondly, take a reasonable but hard line when other approaches fail.

    nutrition- you can bring in play food that has to do with the pyramid (i would also bring in a cut-out pyramid) help them match where the food goes on the pyramid. explain that you need certain amounts of this food per day in order for your body to grow big and strong.

    safety- with younger ones; i do units on street lights, wearing a helmet as well as not talking to strangers.

    health- bring in a doll or something explaining main body parts and tell them by playing outstide, doing sports and being active helps your body live longer and stronger. then play a game with them (even an easy one like duck, duck, goose!)

      If you never introduce your kids to bad foods, then you have nothing to worry about. I know when I was growing up, eating at McDonald's was a once-a-month treat. My mother wouldn't buy sugary cereals and she wouldn't buy us candy. The only time we had candy was for halloween. The problem with childhood obesity arises when parents buy junk foods and drinks and fast food for their kids. This is also one of the top reasons we see health insurance premiums on the rise.

            Parents must pay more attention and care about their children, because they are our future according to that physically, mentally and socially they can play good role n our society. Thank you for sharing valuable idea like this.

                Nutrition plays an important role for kids in their growing age so it is necessary to give them something which is good in terms of substances and contain a good amount of benefits. Milk,fruits should be given to them on daily basis for the fitness.

                  Feed natural and organic foods to your kids rather than processed and junk foods.
                  Organic foods are rich in nutrition and vitamins and these foods play an important role to improve the health and prevent the diseases.

                    Hmm right in nutrition you can generate perform meals that has to do with the chart like i would also generate a cut-out pyramid it will help them coordinate where the meals goes on the chart. describe that you need certain quantities of this meals per day to be able for your whole body to develop big and powerful.

                        I thinks milk , eggs and fresh fruits have very useful nutrition for the kids,.
