Rope Skipping

If the cramps you are talking about occur more to your sides than in the middle of your abs. they are called sidestitches.
They are a sign of undertraining. To get through them try droping the rope while you keep jumping like if you were still using the rope but put your hands above your head and lace your fingers together behind your head. That helps them to go away.
Then you can pick up the rope and keep going.

khs, those stomach cramps occur because your breathing sucks, and your endurance is horrbile. Read this:http://planetjubei.com/mazone/index....aining&id=1253

I`ve lost my breathing control when I start to get tired and that pain on my calves, it gets me in a way that I can`t breath properly anymore (I don`t know why, I also try to relax), and yes my endurance does suck, I can sprint 100 metres and I will be huffing and puffing already! I read that website, but anyways I`ll prolly just wait 3 years till I can get into a Thai Gym...

EhhH? No one has got an answer? I got my attention on skip roping so much because it`s simple and don`t need much equipment (i hate running outside BTW).
But my main point is that is it better to do something like 3 minute round with 1 minute rest 5 times (or 10) or 15 minutes or 30 minutes straight ?

I don`t know how the hell people can go straight 30 minutes. I can`t ****ing even do it for 10 minutes. And if I don`t listen to music while I do it I can barely do it for 5 minutes!!! same as for running.
How long does it take to get fit like that man...

I dunno. Jumping rope doesn't bother my calves anymore. I think I started at 10 minutes a day as part of a 1 to 1.5 hour cardio workout. You get used to it after a while. Over the course of several months I bumped it to 15, then to 20 and 25. Now, I just change things up as long as I get a minimum of 60 minutes cardio.
Anyway, I like jumping rope because it is an aerobic exercise that a big guy can do without incurring too much impact. If you're over 220 it is difficult to run enough to meet your fitness goals without getting injured.

Builderofmuscle,
That is a rather uninformed judgement. Perhaps you haven't trained many superheavyweights. I'm 240 lbs and run between 4 and 8 miles a day. I simply cannot run the 15 miles a day I need to meet my fitness goals without wearing out my knees. To try to do so would be folly. You have to change up your training between different activities. I repeat, skipping rope is a good alternative for heavyweight and superheavyweight guys because it reduces the impact that you incur during the heel-strikes of running.

I have actually found the treadmills that I have available to me to be higher impact than the dirt track at the high school nearby. So, if I'm doing a lot of treadmill work I turn the incline up to 3% and run on my toes. That eliminates the heel strike, which is good for baseline cardio as well as interval work. So, yeah there are workarounds.
