hey if you think of getting tire youll get tire or dry mouth, just have a positive attitude and try to jogg a mile, when you get real tire you wont fell it, i often start getting tire in 1/2mile and bi going a bit more i get a feeling where i dont feel my breathing unless i sprint. it may also be the way you breath, i use to breath and exhale by the nose now i breath by the nose and exhale with my mouth, i dont breath hard with my nose because i get more tire like that. just my thoughts oh remember when your running always say in your mind, "i will not quit i will not quit!"

i do it 10 min youll see results on flexibility, in about 2 weeks or even days if you are flexible.

Im in the Army and we run almost everyday. To prevent getting a dry mouth during runs, I make sure I drink plenty of water and stay hydrated.

You just need to get fitter.

One suggestion is to get a heart rate monitor and set some daily goals for maintaining a aerobic heart rate. If you can only do two minutes, then start from there. For you, consistency is probably the biggest thing you need to establish. If you can get into a consistent aerobic exercise habit then your fitness will follow.

my first half mile to mile is the worst. I beath hard and look like i'm gonna die. I can't talk and basically think it sucks.

But once I hit that first mile I get my second wind and then I can usually make it 3 or 4 more miles without too much hating life.

I used to run 3 to 4 miles everyday but tore my hamstrings hand haven't been able to get restarted running for the last few years.

Everytime you quit it gets harder to restart. You just have to do it. Get a radio and listen to it. drink enough water. Run at night if heat is a problem.

start off running slow and get fit. Then work on speed.

I would run 6 to 7.5 minute miles and then if I was on a track try to sprint out the last half of last lap.

Bri Thai, I think he needs to jog to get fitter.

Anyway, I notice that when I'm not aware of my breathing, I tend to run longer distances. When I have my cd player on real loud, I just tend to zone out, and run about 3 or 4 miles easily. But once, I jogged without any music, and could barely finish a mile.

My chemistry teacher was a marathon runner, and even she agrees that the first mile is the hardest. It's all about mental preperation. But, also, don't stick to one endurance activity. Each activity will challenge you in a different way.

Actually, the reason that the first bit os the hardest is because the aerobic capacity takes a few minutes to kick in. Thats why you're knackered if you walk up a few flights of stairs. But, when the body of a decently fit person gets going, it goes on and on.

Thats why it is beneficial to warm up, it gets the heart and lungs going before the training/event.

thats easy- your way out of shape(fat, obese). i havn't jogged in since fall but i just jogged the other day because it was about 60 degrees outside. i jogged about 1 and a half and i'm not even in shape sooooo you need to start doin a lot more exercise.

thanks bri thai, see what happens when you give a straight answer

platinum angel, you're right, this kid need to do some exercise. I mean, I'm fat, but I can probably run longer distances than many kids my age. They tell me, How?

I say, because I'm not a lazy bum. Also, I hardly EVER eat junk food.

I can give a straight answer on a straight thread.

But when someone says things like "Steroids are ok" I do kick off a bit.

Its the same with "Aikido is a good fighting art" and "Karate is a deadly art".

i know what you mean. Hey one thing I don't get, aren't steroids illegal? If so, than why do I still hear people talking about steroid cycles? Is naturally bodybuilding, different from the Olympia type bodybuilders, like Ronnie Coleman?

As i started working out ths winter, the first time since high school, i learned something very fast.
Being skinney does NOT mean you are "inshape".
I've also found that if i monitor how long i have been running, instead of how far i have run, i do better, even distance wise.
