Okay, I'm getting a bag...

I'm taking the step - I'm getting a heavybag. However, I thought it prudent to do some research before the actual purchase, here among other places. So what do you guys think?
I was thinking maybe 70lb but I really have no idea. I'm about 126lb if that helps at all.

The size of the bag really has to do with the amout of space you have. Also, you should look at what you plan to do with the bag. Are you practicing just punching or punching and kicking. I personally would go with the heavier one.

I would be using the bag for both punching and kicking - pretty much whatever i can do, I will.
About space, I just figure I'll find someplace to hang it when I get it, if it doesn't fit where I'm planning.

Don’t get a water bag. There softer so good for beginners but I bought one about three years ago and every year I have had to replace the bladder because it broke. It sucks to throw a hard knee into the bag then get soaked by the water gushing out of it. Then no more heavy bag training until the bladder has been replaced. Thankfully the bladders aren’t too expensive.

Okay, just to round this thread off and finish it all up in a neat little Package, i will say that I have got the bag, finally, finally.

35 kilos, what's that in pounds? About 70 maybe?

It's pretty good for what i want it for. Got me some gloves too heh heh.

One bad point about it - it is blue. Bummer. Black ones look cooler, although if I stand next to it, I guess it will look cool enough.
