I know there have been threads on vegetarianism before, but I was wondering if anyone here was a vegan?
If so, why and how does it affect your training, if at all.
Although I'm not a veggie or a... veegee I would say that they have some disadvantages, there was a thread about 8 great foods for building muscle and among them were eggs, beef and salmon which a vegan wouldn't be able to eat (or would choose not to). You can still get complete proteins from different plants though (Rice and wheat have one kind, beans and peas have the other kind, so if eat rice with beans then you are getting the complete protein). Perhaps all the fresh fruit and vegetables would have a positive impact on them, their less likelly to get fat. But then again there aren't many vegans around and I don't imagine many of them weight lift so it doesn't matter that much... interesting idea. Well done.

I personally think veganism coudln't hurt a martial artist, or indeed any kind of athlet at all. Cutting out animal fats and stuff can only be a good thing right? Unless, of cousre, you're a crazed psycho bunny who needs animal brains to survive. Heh heh, um, not that I'm one or anything. Cough.
