  • getting back in the game

I'm looking at getting back into training in martial arts again after a 4 year hiatius. I studied taekwondo for 6 years and attained the rank of 1st Dan. I soon got tired of it, quit, and abandoned TKD completely. I began playing football and pumping iron and in about 2 yrs I had gone from a fairly solid and limber 6'0" 220 lbs up to 285 of about 30% fat. I'm done with high school now and I need something to do other than weight lifting to stay active. I'm looking for some advice on how to get my weight back down and still keep some of my muscle mass . Any advice would be gladly appreciated.

      Cardio

Obviously you know how to burn fat. Running, Swimming, Jumping Rope. Anything that will burn calories is good. Try to avoid too many carbs and a glutamnine supplement is also great for "cutting"

Glutamine is not for "cutting". Glutamine is the most abundant amino acid found in the human body and taking a glutamine supplement helps to rebuild muscles after intense workouts. I should further add that taking glutamine without proper protein intake is just useless.......
