  • Lactose Intollerant

I have a question about protein and lactose intollerance. A few years ago I found out that I was lactose intollerant by taking a lactaid ultra pill before any kind of dairy food I ate, including the protein drink I drank with milk. My question is, before I realized that I was lactose intollerant and had to run to the bathroom about 30 min to an hour after any dairy product, but especially after my protein drink, does the body have enough time to absorb the protein suppliment prior to my body purging itself, or was I just throwing my money down the shitter....no pun intended? I ate well and ate other kinds of protein that came naturally in foods, but If say I wanted to just drink the protein drink from muscle teck(nitro tech) on a day off from working out , like I said my body would purge itself, I would get a really bad stomach ach. Aslo I experimented and found that if I took nitro-tech or anyother form of protein drink immediately after a work out, my body would not purge itself. Why would that be. If my body lacks the enzyme to digest lactose, why does it not effect me right after a hard work out?

not sure about the answer to your Q's. But some advice, ditch the Cell Tech, that company is a waste of your money, they over charge and the quality of their goods is questionable.

They stuff it full of sugar and slap on an extra £20!!

    peace.

If you are lactose intolerant there are protein products that are lactose reduced or lactose free. From what I understand whey protein is the best, but there should be other options as well. Protein takes a fairly long time to digest relative to other nutritional components. If it is expelled because the body is reacting to it then it is most likely not being absorbed. Your body is expelling to keep it from being absorbed.

I cannot anwer your questions, but I may be able to help.

I cannot lactose intollerant as well. In substitue of milk I drink Almond milk. It eat it on my cereal, drink it for a snack, etc.

You can get the powder form of whatever you take and mix it with the Almond/Soy milk. It does not stir up and mix well, but if you put it in a blender it works fine.

You can always take the lactaid pills before drinking/eating a milk product and then that will work fine too. I just dont remember to eat the pills.

          Take care,

          WG
