You could do both at once by head butting your knees.

If you spent a few hard years doing Yoga, you could also learn to bite your own testicles.

I'm not sure it would be any use, but I'm sure there'd be a sick market out there for the video.

what doesn't kill you makes you stronger... so i suggest you train for it... like resistance training... to get bigger, you train your body so that it adapts to the stress... same thing here... you train your body to adapt to the pain... hit something and slowly build up till you can hit that thing really hard without hurting yourself so much...

Unless it leaves you a drooling cripple.

I agree chainzaw, but i wouldn't recomend it for your face, that could leave a nasty mark.

Here are some times that i have found useful:

Shins & forearm: Taking a bo staff and letting a partner roll it up and down your shin while apply downward pressure. You use the bone side of the forearm (your fist should be vertical) to roll the staff. Make sure you do not hit the knee tho.

Fist: You may have to do a bit of searching for this, but there is a canvas bag that has sand inside and you can use that for your hands. This bag is just a little bigger than a magazie and weights about 10-15 lbs (I think) if you need a picture of it i can send it to you.

Isnt it not good to roll hard objects along bones? Makes 'em harder, but brittle. 'least thats what I keep on being told. Well as far as I am concerned when it comes to conditioning the stomach, there is nothing better than to get a friend to punch you in the stomach and gradually work there way up harder and harder when you tell them too. If you like or if it is too painful then maybe your friend should wear some gloves, but if you need to condition by youself than one again for you stomach use a medicine ball, or I find what also works is using a hard object like a smallish block of wood. Now for Shins and forearms, to start off with just hitting them with your own fist is good enough, the part where you would hit somone with a hammer-fist strike. But usually people need something more intense than that so a decently hard tennis ball, or rubber ball would do, hitting and rolling that on bone would be surely less likely to cause much brittle-ness. I find though the best ways to condition are to do some conditioning drills by youself or with a partner or to just get used to the strikes or whatever while sparring. What better way to toughen your arms, stomach, shins, etc. against blows than to take them? Or to tougen your torso/back against throws than to be thrown? naturally you might want to start softer and slower and work it up to full intensity. Now I hope my ramble here helped, either it did or I made a fool of myself somehow. Either way I am happy to have put my two cents in.

Well it depends what muscles you want to strengthen.

*Doing situps/crunches improves the strength of your stomach muscles

(So does getting hit there but thats best avoided)

*Pressups etc strengthen your arm muscles.

To deal with pain better without having super strong muscles your best off distracting your mind away from the pain.EG thinking abotu other things or by saying to yourself things like 'its only pain it will go soon...'

3 words: hard Body Conditioning... try punching sand, believe it or not it works. wrap a board in rope, thats what I do. Thai boxers kick banana trees so if you see on of them, go for it!

ok man, some people are on the right track, others are just tottaly off haha, someone said when u make bones harder they become more brittle? uhh...PSYCHE! hard and brittle are opposites... doesnt happen like that. i have been training in breaking techniques for about 5 years now, i can turn cinderblocks into rubble within one punch. to strength hands and knuckles, do like KyokushinkAC85 said, wrap a board in rope or twine, and go at it, deliver about 150 or 200 punches a day, im 3 months, the board or twine/rope should be dessimated, and your hand should be ready to smash boards. this technique is called Makiwara training, you can buy pre-made stuff, but i suggest wrapping a rope around a tree or board... no need to spend a ton of money online for something that'll just snap or wont work... some stuff is too padded and doesnt help. what happens scientifically is... when your body is traumatized by force or pressure repeatedly, like hitting the board again and again, breaks down the bone in your knuckles slightly, your body, then reacts, it send more calcium to your knuckles, this thickens them, builds them up, this process is called calcifying. when bone is broken down, the body sends calcium to the bone and builds up calcium deposits to strengthen the bone and harden it. this makes your bones stronger and more durable. but. this training is a catch 22. this extra calcium can lead to arthritis when u get older. besides that, your knuckles will almost certainly be bruised 24/7 like mine are. i'm constantly asked by friends, and even strangers, " Why are your knuckles so bruised? " i admit, i indulge in makin up a crazy story once or twice a year, but i usually explain this phenomenon to them. how the body recovers and strengthens itself is amazing. there is no more powerful weapon then a trained body, a strong will, and a brain of iron. with these things you will obtain much more in life. this method of Makiwara will apply to all bone structures, u can do this with shins, hands, knees, and elbows. now. for the face... there isnt much u can do.. and i hope u dont mind lookin like a idiot to friends haha, hang a bag, either of peas, or of sand from the ceiling.. and basically, swing the bag again and again, and let it hit your face... no joke... it works, or, take your hands and continually jab yourself where u want to strengthen your face. not hard enough to bruise, but enough to where its soar as heck after about 150 punches. if you want to train to have a stronger head, drop the bag of peas or sand on your head about 150 or 250 times. about 5 or 6 months, you'll b able to smash brick with your head if u have trained correctly, and you use correct technique. if you have any more questions about all fo thsi, im VERY knowledgable about this art feel free to gimme a shout! later guys.

Oooo! an iron brain sure would help with headbutts!!! But hey, you have a point in your post, but isnt it because of the bones getting the damage and filling it with calcium the reason why there more brittle? as calcium is much more brittle than bone itself.
