  • Horse Stance good for pain training???

Hey, for training good to take pain, but without injuring yourself, is horse stance training very good for this, or are there better methods?? Because I know it takes some real guts to maintain a solid, deep horse stance for like up to an hour, or an hour and a half straight, without rising up, because the pain in your leg muscles gets so great. I would think it is very good for mental endurance. Plus you're standing still while taking the pain, which can be tougher to do since lots of people like to move around.

You might also want to try ritual hook suspension to train transcendence of pain

HandtoHand - you are a sick man.

I hope you don't put Little Richard through too much of this.

I think you guys have some neato ideas, though I don't think I want to do anything that could possibly cause tissue damage.

No, HandtoHand, I wasn't looking for reinforcement for wwhat my sensei told me, I pretty much learned myself about the horse stance from articles. My sensei never made us stay that long in horsestance. I know he wanted to, but he'd have lost all his students (it was a very small school, very down to earth). It is closed now, but I miss it. Won't find another school like that for a long time probably. That was a school where the sensei actually TAUGHT the students.

Thanx for all the ideas though.
