    hi guys im new to here and just recently started to take up boxing, im 16, 163 pounds and 6"1, i was just wondering what type of training i should do, like is weightlifting more important or is endurance or what, cuz right now i can do 10 reps of 25 pounds for bout 20 min straight and 30 min nonstop on treadmill but, what type of training/excersies are beter than other for the sport of boxing?

      You really don't need to lift weights or anything, I prefer bodyweight exercises. You definately should run (wind sprints, hills, distance, etc), hit the heavy bag alot, do neck exercises, speed bag, double end bag, jump rope (all the mainstays of boxing basically).         I would say you need to do some body weight exercises and light weights, even before you start boxing program. That will decrease you chances of injury and add integrity to your technique.

          wrap rocks/stoned up in old sheets tie them around ankles wrists then go jogging, walk with your arms out besides you with wieghts in your hands for aslong as you can, start learning how to control your breathing aswell, i recommend Qigong for that, also try more cardio for stamina and stretching you need to be stretching longer than your lifting man, its important very important

            Or if you really want to destroy your hips and knees you could go "high tech" and get ankle weights. Just remember, the "stoned" part is very important to convince you to do this to yourself.
