Are there any sport psychology books that address combat sports. It would be great to read up on MA specific but I'm assuming thats asking too much.

I'm looking anything and everything but specifically in combat sports.

Well Im studying Psychology at school at the moment. My recommendation is get a book on sports psychology > don't be too general about exactly what sport. It may address combat sports inside, but who knows. If you ever decided to become a sports psychologist, after getting the degree, you can then go into work with combat sports where their are jobs to be had.

    Hope that helps.

      Re: Sports Psychology

It varies from team to team depending on attitude determination and will to win.

        Hi there!

I'm putting the finishing touches on a book entitled "Performing in The Zone - Unleash your true performing potential!" It is aimed at helping all performers obtain an ideal state of mind before and during performing situations.

I'm not sure if it is what you're looking for, but check it out and let me know!

It will be released in June of this year. Hope there is something in there that you find useful!

          Mental Training...

          1. GrapplersGym.com has a book called "The Combat Athletes Guide to Mental Training and Preparation". And if it is anywhere near the quality of their other books such as "The Grapplers Guide to Sports Nutrition" it should be excellent: www.grapplersgym.com/products/item5.cfm

          2. Also check out Dr. Borum's website: www.combatsportpsychology.blogspot.com/

          3. ...and definitely visit Brian Cain's Mental Training Program for MMA (see below). He has a lot of testimonials including GSP, Franklin, Jardine & others.

Mental Training Techniques and Psychology of Fighting

For me,It dont need a psycohology for sport, just do your best, and it depends on the behavior or the attitude you shown in your game.If you don't have a discipline to your self in the game, your game will distruct because you think of your emotion.
