Quote: ...the ego-self is a symbolic point of internal reference, a nexus created in the mind by the mind to organise the input of experience so as to preserve the coherene of the subjective realm and allow the body/self to function in a purposeful way.
Darryl Reanney. The death of forever.

I chose this quote to illustrate more scientifically my earlier statements on the war in Irak.
What do people who are pro war identify with? Who are the role models of invaders?
Does racism play an role? Does religion and religious values play any role? How about the soldiers earlier upbringing? How about Arnold Schwarzenegger alias Conan fighting the evil snake-clan? What is the actual secret of steel?

Let`s go back even farhter and look at the ending of the musical Hair: the hippie ends up dying in vietnam and the rednecks get married.

Let me assure you i know how war affects people. My grandfather was a highly decorated soldier in ww2 an ww1 i grew up in his house hearing him listen to R. Wagner, breathing his cigar-air, living his experiences in a childish innocent way and growing up to be mocked by ignorant simple people who pride themelves to be called martial artists who are pro killing.

I assure you that i am highly qualified to question those people`s moral standards being a father and a respectful partner.

So once again: who do soliers identify with? El Cid? Rambo? Their broken fathers? Custer? Jesus? Moses? American Eagle? Dodge Viper? Marlon Brando?
    Scarface? 50 cent?

    Bring it on.

    burial

    i see 35 and i see zero.

scooping the clairaudient zone with my huge ears i will reply to my own thread: this Reanny guy who is he anyway...some conceited twat, is he not. Yeah man...he must have died of cancer...hahaha.

Well, he does have a point there when he says that we have been brought up to become afraid of death. When actually do you get to see a real dead body. When have you last been with a person rattling the last bits of blessed air?

One might come to the conclusion that warfare killing is some kind of teenage/juvenile protest behaviour, like: rat rat rat...wam here you go. He is dead. Look now. I shot the guy. He is dead! In your face! Mamma, Pappa i did it... just like taking a dump actually.

Let us not forget the suicidal fraction.

And let us not forget those who only can relax/unwind (because they suffer from incessant screwing) when they deliver a justified blow!
Keep on voting for war you ps.............w. ups.

If you do not know now you know, .....

    Hit me back!

        1) Nice quote... pop psychology is not science. being articulate to win an arguement doesn't make you right...it simply makes you an effective sophist.
        2) People have various reasons for joining the armed forces...including money, employment opportunities, tuition waivers, learning trades free of charge, and healthcare benefits that exceed most HMOs in the private sector. Not everything is rah-rah jingoism. Some people join because they dislike the way that the people in Iraq were treated under their prior leadership...not to say that their current one is any better...it's more or less a matter of opinion. Ethics and ethnocentrism... And some go into war for less than nobel or practical reasons.
        3) Most people in martial arts are anti-killing. Killing at its best and at its worst is a waste. People who do the killing usually share the same sentiment. Those who don't are sociopaths. Most people who talk about killing are braggarts, cowards, and will never take a life. My advice is to read "On Killing" by Lt. Col. Dave Grossman if and only if you are actually interested in the psychology behind this question.
As for racism and religion...of course it does...on both sides.
        4) Morality is subjective...there is no right or wrong answer, and you, sir...have no priveledged position to judge others for what you arbitrarily decide is just or unjust. Remember...it's people like YOU who commit hate crimes.

Here's what I think... most people who are pro-war in this age are misled and ignorant of objective truths, most people who are anti-war in this age are naive and ignorant of objective truths.

Quite right, quite right...and yes, i failed.
Still, what about identification? I too thought of that money thing and yes, most martial artists are (?) contra killing.
          I is a nice quote,is it not?
I whacked our rabbit over the shoulder with a wooden handle today...my kids were watching me...it had escaped and i just lost it...my daughter telling me she had a "health problem" trying to help me catch the rabbit at the same time..well my instincts took over. Wanting to "save" my daughter i opted for paralyzing the rabbit taking into account its possible death ...i meant to hit the skull but i hit the shoulder...no fractures as far as i can feel. He got administered reiki, a puddle of beer and our best regards.

So what do you think? Which instinct has to be manipulated to go to war against Irak?
