Khaosay Galaxy held the bantam (or feather weight) title for a long time.
Manny "The Pacman" Pacquaio from the Phillipines is a top contender as well - Completely unheard of till recent.

Do you read "The Ring" and other boxing mags and keep up with the WBA, WBF and IBF ratings?

There's usually an asian or two in the featherweight to light weight categories ranked in either top 10 or top 20. Most of them are Thais, Koreans, Japanese or Phillipinos.

Do you have to be mean to do boxing? Evander Hollyfield, George Foreman and Lou Saverese are professionals who hold themselves like gentlemen.

Did you read mean or quote "meant" to box? LOL, I was just playing around with that a lil by the way. No I don't really keep up with the boxing titles and so on....... I have one big flaw with boxing and I would love it and feel free to comment openly.
Boxing would be more competitive at the higer levels if it was WINNER TAKES ALL......not this crap with predetermined fight amounts win or lose.

              I don't know about that Jubaji. Perhaps they should just stick to ping - pong. {eyeroll}

              Nwtomaime,

you have just effectively defined the true meaning of the word "ignorant." Few people realize, but it's actually a French word. The word "ignorer" is the infinitive which means "to ignore." When put into the present participle tense, it turns into "ignorant" (pronounced: in yor auh) which would translate to "being in the state of ignoring."

Its funny when some meathead types a bunch of shit, gets defensive about it, then closes with "peace".

I find it hard to believe that you are American. Your obvious challenges with the English language suggest that it is not your native tongue.

You're welcome, or as you would say it, YW.

Actually, nwtoblame, my webster's dictionary doesn't even have ignorant in it, I don't own one concise enough. However, I did just now look it up on webster.com and this is what I came up with:

1 a : destitute of knowledge or education ; also : lacking knowledge or comprehension of the thing specified b : resulting from or showing lack of knowledge or intelligence

Now, how did I get all that etymological information information from that? Had you done your research instead of bursting into the saloon, six-gun blasting a way 7 shots a minute, you'd a realized that:

I TOOK FRENCH IN COLLEGE, HAVE A HEAVY LINGUISTIC BACKGROUND, AND I AM A FRENCH TEACHER!!!!

I swear. I am seriously amazed sometimes. I thought this was a martial arts board. Perhaps I'm mistaken, but isn't one of the tenants of martial arts to learn your opponent? Do we only apply these martial tenants to our lives while we are in the dojo? No, we are martial artists for life and therefore all things taught in the dojo for self-defense also apply for life and self-protection, even in simple debates which sharpen our minds as sparring sharpens our reflexes. You would have learned most of that above information (all except the linguistic part) by one simple click of reading my profile. Sheesh. Really, you make it too easy.

Secondly, I'm not letting you get away by claiming that you were "just kidding." uh uh, no way. That's a slick move but it's not going to fly. Now, let's be sure that we understand one another, you seem to have taken the stance that you made this comment and now we're, how did you put it? Oh yes....

Well, this easily offended twirp happens to understand American slang rather well, seeing as I teach middle school (you could read that in the profile as well) I actually could write an addendum of slang terms to that Webster's Dictionary that you mentioned earlier (i.e., the world "guffin'").

Now back to you just kidding... There's no way that you can make a comment like
asians JUST don't box, they're not meant to do it FACE it
and later defend that it was an off-handed quip. Now, neither myself nor Jubaji have implied any offense to this comment, rather we have both simply informed you how utterly stupid you-- eer it (your comment) is.
