Couldn't afford any of the Kerambits featured in that article. Actually, couldn't buy any of them in good conscious. $300 for a Kerambit, give me a break...that goes for any "recreational" blade. If you're actively in the armed forces I suppose the higher end, more expensive ones that drain on my tax dollars would be ok...

In regards to the article I found it to be pretty basic. It was very limited in its description of applications. Although it make a big deal of the ring that allowed you to do all of these neat things...the lack of discussion about the Kerambit being an impact weapon as well, showed a weakness in the discussion. I also find it interesting that people are so pre-occupied with the extended stabbing position of the Kerambit. That is in my opinion one of the weaker and more vunerable positions. If you attack with that and the opponent moves (zones) off the line of agression and gets a hold of the extended Kerambit then you index finger will surely be broken. Not that you may not cut the shit out of him in the process, but at the expense of having your finger unnecessarily broken doesn't make sense to me. The one thing I will assume is that the article may have been whittled down to bare bones and the editors may have wanted to appeal to the knife "purchasing" community.
