  • Houston Stickfighting Assoc. Meet, 3rd quarter 2007

The Houston Stickfighting Association has extended an invitation to those who specialize in hand-held impact weapons play where it is at full-contact and with less protective gear.

Rules also vary in accordance to "gentlemen's honor" and mutual agreement between combatants. There will be NO SCORE KEEPING. The matches are as real as you want it to be inside of a round that can last from 90 seconds to a whole 2 mins.

    The event will be....
Located inside of the west of the 610 loop near the Galleria area is Memorial Park. Check the link below to learn more on exactly where in the park this event will be held. It's a pretty big park with tennis courts, soccer fields, jogging, walking and bike trails along the road and amidst the tall trees...

More than likely, matches will begin as early as 10 am in the morning on
Sunday, September 23, 2007 at Memorial Park off of Memorial Drive near the 610 Loop.

Oh man it was an awesome day for stickplay last Sunday at the HSFA stickfighting event held at Memorial Park. It's so cool to find that we are expanding our horizons by inviting other martial arts weapons players from other eastern and Western MAs to join along with us. Unfortunately, it seems we have lost out on a number of the "purists" in the FMA game who have no longer been showing up for these events because it is outside of their scope of comfort. Those of us who remain members as a result are the ones obviously open-minded enough to explore our own backgrounds with other combative systems outside of the FMA circle. Hence making us more well-rounded in the stickfighting game. Videos to be coming soon!
