  • Favorite JKD technique

I like the burning foot side kick. Using a shuffle and displacement step off to 45 degrees, or 10 o'clock, and unleashing a hell of a side kick. I like watching the old video where Bruce Lee could really get that big bag moving when he did the burning foot side kick.

    What's your favorite?

There has been a few posts by regulars since I put this thread up. I'm starting to suspect that many of you don't actually train. What's Up!

Well Drew, I don't do JKD but I know of the kick your talking about. I used to do a simular kick when sparring though I'd twist a bit more to make it more of a back kick. It would be quick a powerful, though depending on who I was sparring I may have just pushed or I might have kicked hard. Although, I did this in closer range than a normal side kick.

I actually do the kick the same way. It ends up looking like a back kick.

Something I've been working on is an arm wrench, grion slap to a tai chi sail. I find an outside to outside referance, lop sau, (pull) the arm in to an armbar position, then I use the groin slap as a transition move to get under my opponents armpit and sail him away.

          Peace out.
