what are the advantages of fighting with the right lead/strong side forward?

the ability to switch to the left

but really it's just nice to have your strongest tools closer to the opponent

Lead leg side kick does not travel as far thus has a lot more speed. And can be said for any lead leg kick. Makes for a really nice stop hit!

see Mike Goldbach's thai tapes from TRS; it is possible to turn a lead punch into a kO blow. Bruce's argument was that the stronger hand is better to keep up front for precisely that reason.

Like eXcessiveForce said you can put a lot more power into the jab, and all other lead techniques for that matter.

It lets you get more bodyweight behind your weak side thus increasing the power here too.

There are examples of boxers who actually fight with their strong side forward and have used it to great advantage. Mikkel Kessler just to name one.

strong side forward allows us to cover our center line, allows for the hand to be closest to the target, by keeping it towards the middle *(hip/rib area is where the elbow should rest) it allows to keep our opponents further away. It also allows the rear hand to become stronger by use of drop/torque motion of the hips.

Strong side forward is best suitable for interception, especially facing a left-lead opponent by use of the "cut punch" ....and so on
