lol seriously though, it will probably be some of the most famous UFC fighters who are remembered.... actually you know what... one of the gracies... or just the gracie family in general, they really have been the ones to bring about a massive change in martial arts, with the whole BJJ thing.

Modern Pioneer's

Royce did a lot to publicize GJJ and to help create an incubator (UFC) that would give birth to new changes in martial arts, but I don't know if I would say he was a pioneer of the arts themselves. Maybe Helio is. I would put Pat Militech on the list, Randy Couture, Dan Inosanto and some others. I'm no expert though

Its a different world. I think that people will now be remembered more for bringing martial arts to the forefront of American society than for their actual individual contributions to the arts themselves. When it comes to people that know nothing about martial arts...they dont know the real guys developing the arts. But they do know the guys that are on TV.
