In terms of groundwork BJJ is more extensive then Judo just as Judo is more extensive in standing grappling. There are only 29 ground tech in judo.

The one who is the better fighter that day. There is no paper, rock, scissor formula to any of this.

the reason most MA got beat in the UFC is that they were too busy trying to do a style and not trying to beat the other guy.

I believe bjjers have no problem to submit judokas on ground, since bjjers train a lot more on ground techniques then judokas, plus bjj has a lot more ground moves then judo.

well, if u took a blackbelt in bjj and put him vs a judo blackbelt, the odds are in favor of the bjj guy. the reason i say this is because to be a blackbelt in bjj means u are a true master grappler and have some amazing skills, however a blackbelt in judo doesnt always mean u are a master of your craft, but just that u are a really dedicated student. it takes way longer to get a bjj blackbelt than it does a judo blackbelt.

our bjj program trains with judokas that compete at the college level, so we can crosstrain in eachothers arts. the judo blackbelts that we train with enter bjj competitions as blue belts and do pretty good, but have real difficulty hanging with the purple belts. this is only what ive seen at my gym.

also most higher level bjj guys(purple belt and above) can easily nulify throws and just bipass the stand up range by pulling people to the ground straight into joint locks. this may not sound too great, but if u seen it done u know how effective it is.

I don't think they can nulify throws so easy as you say. I seen some advance BJJ and Judo artists go at it and the BJJ guy always or most of time get his ass thrown to the floor. From the floor the BJJ guy tries to take advantage.

You know what I am trying to say. The guy who I quoted before said that the Judo blackbelts can't seem to throw the purplebelt BJJ guys down. I think that is not so. I seen Judo guys throw BJJ blackbelts just as easy. What the hell you saying. The floor, ground and mat or whatever you want. I was talking about the grappling skills BJJ guys try to use on the ground. They try to take advantage of those skills against Judo guys.

BJJ vs. Judo? That's like Wrestling vs. Wrestling, or Judo vs. Judo . . . .

Depends on the school. The Judo school I went to did alot of groundwork.

i wasnt generalizing here. this is just what i had observed at were i train. ive seen it done before and it can be pretty effective. sure not everyone can do it, but ive personally seen it done.

btw, most people think bjj doesnt have takedowns but it does. higher level bjj guys know lots of takedowns from judo as well as wrestling techniques like ankle pics, trips, and throws. bjj guys get the best of both worlds when it comes to takedowns because the rules allow more techniques so crosstraining is always happening. theres also gi and giless. and as i said if u look at high level bjj guys, the can pull most people straight into joint locks, not even having to execute a takedown.
