  • MMA Weekly said it was a wasted card

I completely agree, what a waste of time and money, Im glad I spliced it.
First off Nobody seemed they wanted to fight. The big heavyweights were so boring. Paul B fight was a joke, How does some one whos only fought 4 times even get to be in a card. It keeps boosting Pauls record but everyone knows he is no martial artists. As for Diaz, I think he's finished. He has to change his game completely, he is Embarrising Gracie Academy. Mir was not ready for the spotlight again, and sinosec just keeps losing!
At least the Vera fight was a solid blow. But then he only beat eilers, Paul B even beat Eilers.
So the last of fight with Randy and Chuck, well I called it. If Randy wants to box he will lose. What a joke, He slips trying to throw a punch! Man stick to the game plan.

Well I hope Dayna listens to all the critics worldwide.

you talk shit about these fighters who train their asses off, make tons of sacrifices, and put their own health on the line to fight for your entertainment. most these guys that u just talked shit about and said they arent martial artists probobly train harder in one day than most people do in their entire lives. if u think paul b aint a martial artist, u should come down to aka and tell him that to his face. you said u train at cung lees, aka isnt very far away, im sure u could easily make the trip to american kickboxing academy and let paul know what u think of him, since u seem to think you can do better.

im pretty sick of all these armchair martial artists talking shit about people who train there fucking asses off and put everything on the line to fight, when you dont even know anything about them. if u dont like ufc thats fine dont watch it, go watch wwe instead, but dont talk shit about people you dont even know while sitting behind your computer.

it takes a lot of training, dedication, and courage to stand in mma ring and go toe to toe with another trained fighter. dont discredit another martial artists career and training just cause you didnt find the event entertaining enough.

I don't like their personas, mainly. Also I hate the commercielization.

I personally don't dislike much about Diaz besides his persona, I don't dislike much about Paul B. besides his persona, and I this Randy is the greatest thing to happen to the UFC in a decade, BECAUSE of his persona (and amazing fighting prowess).

I think Diaz faught hard, but he talked a lot of shit and I didn't like it. I though Paul B. kicked ass, but then he kept going for a missing rediculously easy submissions, and then he stood up, and flaunted how great he is and how the octagon is "his house."

Randy slipped and got knocked, its hard to take Chuck down and I think he tried hard and wasn't indending to box.

the thing about paul is, he is a striker. he only started training in jiu jitsu recently, he wins most his matches by ko. he is a whitebelt in jiu jitsu, and only started training under our blackbelt not too long ago. he won an award for best submission not too long ago, right after he started training with our blackbelt Dave Camarillo. id say he has done well for someone with very little grappling training, he even got a title shot.

          cry me a river beotch,
You act like every critic has to be an equal, Damn you are dumb. Like Max W would ever put on gloves and go head to head with Tyson. Get a life loser. Are u Paul B? You sound like it. Do you know anything of politics. B was a stool for Arlovski to poop on. He did not earn his title shot. Are you saying that MMA Weekly doesn't know jack about mma, and the card was great?

Damn son, learn to channel your anger into something useful. Remember, you will see me one day in the UFC once the rules change!

wow shut up, you seem to think that there making tons of sacrafices. first of all if you dont have a job, and you have no goals as a person, you basically fight. maybe you like fighting, maybe your a spaz who has to hit something. but if you dont want to go to college or get an education, what else is there to do. most of these people would do anything to not have a job and to just fight. thats why you hear all these fighters saying "i love fighting, its the only thing i know how to do. i wouldnt even cal it a job because i love it so much!" stop kissing peoples asses, saying they devote so much. yeah if i was genuinely pissed off a paul bunaturdo and i was like 300 pounds i probably would go down there and kick him in the face, but im not going to because i dont give crap about him or how fat he is. and what the hell do you mean by "everything" on the line? its his f-in career, whats the difference between presnting an idea at a board meeting, and having no one like it, to losing a mma fight. you may get fired, but its not going to stop you from doing what you like to do. you can go out and find another job. and saying they train harder in one day then most people do in there entire lives is just stupid to say. your an ignorant idiot, you know nothing about life obviously. if you were ever on a wrestling team, or even had friggin cancer its just stupid to say things like that. hey look my skins melting off and i want to kill myself, but its no need to worry because pat buntello is training hard and hes in more pain than i am.
gee, i guess if they train harder than me and put more on the line that someone with cancer in one day, compared to my entire life....mmmm about a billion push ups, and basically every other thing that involves sweating. man, your right they do train hard, im sorry for being such an ass. basically your an idiot who kisses the asses of the ones who cant defend themselves. and yeah takes alot of courage to do a job i guess, knowing that if the boss dosnt like your work your ass is going to get fired.

              Yep you got it!
yo emptychest! Look I do not hate Paul B, but if you say HE TRAINS HIS ASS OFF, and HE's an expert fighter, then he has to take critisism. Am I a less martial artists because I only compete in small BTF competitions. No! I have a job, and a degree from State. But I still train my ass off, at the gym and my house. Remember though, I grew up in San Jose as well, there are no "mean streets" of silicon valley. Paul B is no thug. He has only fought 10 fighters with good records, and guess what! He lost them all. Do you think Paul B would last against Fedor Emelianenko. I bet that fight will happen sometime soon. REMEMBER I was there in 97 in TX when he was choked out by Tanner whom weighed 35lbs LESS! So please do not act like I do not know who trains hard. If you are looking for a role model emptychest, look at Rich Franklin, That guy is the real deal. If you want to imitate fighters, imitate him.
Yo rich if you read this, keep it up man!

wow your fucking a moron if you thinking competing in a mma match is the same thing as going to your white collar, limp wristed board meeting. i dont know if you noticed, but many people get seriously injured in mma matches. people have gotten broken limbs, broken facial bones, neck/spine injuries, concussions, ...the list goes on. yeah man, sitting at your board meeting, sucking dick all day for a paycheck is the same.

and your lame assumption of how people who compete in mma are losers and arent educated leaves me to think just leaves me to think how educated you are with your broad generalizations, and false claims. chuck liddel, the ufc champion was a graduate of cal poly. just cause you dont know jack shit doesnt mean you should pretend like you do.

as for you ninjaboy, as i said, just come aka and tell paul yourself what you think. i mean, he should hear criticism shoudlnt he? it can only help him get better, so just come to aka and tell him since i know you are only like 15 min away.

and btw, you must be one sheltered ass fool if you think san jose doesnt have mean streets. some parts of sj are fucked up, havent you ever been to east san jose? obviously not. even downtown sj is pretty bad, there are tons of wack ass fools down there. wtf are u talking about man.

What a fukctard. Diaz is still very young and a awesome grappler as well as his stand-up is good. He got robbed in that decision, he did the attacking the whole time. Diesel just landed a few punches and did nothing to submit Nick

Are you outa your mind! Man ur a loser. Silicon Valley was rated one of the safest places to live! Man you think East San Jose is bad. Fool I live on Jackson and Alum Rock, man you think bums begging for smokes or kids playing with knives is dangerous. Please fool, ask brothas getting smoked in Watts or DC or Detroit. Do not attempt to make something into something that is not. This forum is not for making your city gang tough!
Now you just crack me up. I have never been afraid in San Jose. You are such a retard man.

i never said sj was the worst or toughest place to live, of course there is worse, but that for sure doesnt mean theres no bad parts. shit man, i know a two people who have been killed in sj by vietnamese gangs. one got machetted at the lightrail station and the other got stabbed and had a power drill put to his head, so dont say doesnt have its bad parts. if u dont believe go to the chynoweth lightrail station off blossom hill and take a look at the flowers and gifts people still leave for him were he was killed. shit man, my very best friend almost got shot while waiting for the light rail in downtown sj, luckily the bullet hit someone else. so dont say sj is completely safe. no place is ever completely safe.

                        Nice one.
I know about that muder on blossim hill. It sucks, but it doesn't mean its a dangerous city, besides you act like Paul B's training is going to save him from getting shot in a drive by. Don't you remember ALEX Gong. Dont be a fool and say that anything about street fighting or gang violence has anything to do with training to be in a mma match.
I wasn't saying that Alum Rock is a bad place. Its quite nice actually.
If you want to train then fine go train, but dont say its because you live on the mean streets of "silicon valley"

                          Ninjaboy,

you started the whole "mean streets" argument. No one else had said anything about it so I would say that you are the one trying to make himself sound hard. I am not sure how being poor and living in shit makes you hard, only poor and shit.

I love this line - "Please fool, ask brothas getting smoked in Watts or DC or Detroit.". Tell me, are you a fan of Mr T

                          CloonyTKD,

What the hell are you talking about

What does this statement have to do with people having cancer.

"most these guys that u just talked shit about and said they arent martial artists probobly train harder in one day than most people do in their entire lives."

That is totally true. Do people with cancer train six hours a day five days a week? Do they spar every day and have to deal with constant injuries? No... then shut the hell up.

Also, many of the guys in the UFC are educated. I hate the way everyone assumes that if you fight you are a moron who cant get a job. Many of them have degrees and even post graduate qualifications. They dont fight because they have "no goals as a person". They fight because they enjoy it. It is the career they have chosen.

I am interested, do you feel this way about people who are figure skaters, track athletes, football players, chess masters, etc or is it just fighters you think are idiots with no options or goals? Maybe it is anyone who tries to achieve their dreams while you just roll along with your dreary life.

Man are you on the wrong forum.

Dont be a clown man, it was from the commentators in the fight. Selling Paul B like he was a thug street fighter. I simply said he was not. Silicon Valley was rated "one of the safest places to live" so how would it sound like I am saying I'm from the mean streets?
Look its quite simple, like mma weekly and hundreds of critics everywhere. The fight card was a failure. I would say personaly less then half the fights were actual mma involved. I was proud of whitehead for going the distance but overall disappointed. Like I've been saying for a long time, until Dana changes the rules, or fighters start coming over from pride, UFC will be a distant second to Pride status mma.
