  • Promoting a school with videos

If you ran across a CD with bjj demonstrations from a local school, would you go ahead and pick up a copy? I think most people here would since a lot of you are already involved in martial arts, but would you still grab a copy if you were not involved in martial arts? Would you also bother to pick up a copy of a VHS video with the same footage and watch it?

I'm seriously thinking about doing this to help out my instructor to promote his school.

I have no idea what you're asking. Can you break it up into smaller pieces so I can understand it?!

Sounds an expensive way to try and get people interested.

I'd just run an advert in the local press, and maybe run an open day?

Not that many people are interested in training in the Martial Arts anyway. If they are, they'll be looking for you.

I was asking if you ran across a promotional video (whether it be a VHS video or just mpeg videos on a CD), would you bother to pick up a copy and watch it? It wouldn't cost you anything to get a copy.

Bri, as far as the cost goes, I know I can produce atleast 100 copies of a CD cheaper than what it would cost to run an advertisement in a local paper. Not sure how much it would cost to do VHS vidoes but I'm pretty sure I could do that cheap to. My wife works for Sears and gets damaged merchandise really, really cheap.

Well I'd watch it, but I am already converted to the martial arts. I don't know about any new trainees.

            TIPS

This is what you should do.

            1. Openday, have an openday with lots of MA stuck everywhere.
            2. Free Breakfast or lunch or dinner. With some vidoes going.
            3. Give out your CD to all who enter the door.

I hope this helps. But I dont think people who are not interested in MA would pick up the CD.
