  • Triangle Choke used in WWF(E)

In the main event of RAW last week Kurt Angle used a triangle choke to make to Undertaker tap out. The announcers even correctly identified it as a "jiu-jitsu technique".

    Pretty interesting.

If Kurt Angle mixed it up with some BJJ/Boxing I think he would do pretty good in NHB, the guy is pretty big compared to most heavyweights in NHB!!!

I certianly hope this isn't the beginning of a new trend. If they start showing jiu-jitsu moves then it will become less and less likely that I'll be able to suprise someone in a fight.

        How 'authentic' was the triangle?

It took Angle a LONG time to properly execute it. But he also forgot to elevate the hips and pull Undertaker's head down. Hehe details are what mae it work.

            triangle setup

How did he manage to set it up? did he have undertaker in his guard? Did it look like undertaker was *really* tapping out?

well its all planned so probably just did the whole Slam then pu him into a submission kinda deal...

I still think Kurt Angle would be a pretty good NHB fighter, guy has a neck 3times as thick as mine, jesus..

Angle probably didn't execute it correctly on purpose. The last thing the WWE needs is more lawsuits from kids trying to pull these maneuvers at home!

As long as the dreaded 'Claw' doesn't make a return (long live the Super Fly) I think we'll be ok.

                  Exibition Wrestling

WWF, WCW, NWO, WWE its all crap. As for Angle becoming a NHB fighter hed lose. They practice there moves on co-operative people. If it came to a real fight he would know what to do.

I limit my self to watching that crap to 1hr a month.

                      Wrestling

Olympic Wrestling is alot different to exhibition wrestling. And as for Kurts medal i think (NOT FOR SURE) but I remember hearing it was for shot-put.

Im not positive so can someone set me straight of clarrify that please.

                        huh???

Well either way a lot of ground and pound guys are winning these days.

I'm sure Kurt Angle with his strenth, ground skills, SOLID neck he can be a force in NHB.

                          Maybe?

Im still not convinced though about his actual fighting ability.

Fighter, Kurt Angle won TWO gold medals for wrestling at the olympics.

One medal for his weight class and the other in the open/unlimited weight class. He did this with a neck injury at the time.

Also, some other former WWF stars that competed in "Real" fighting are Ken Shamrock and Dan Severn. Maybe you've heard of them.
