Yes It is a great idea
you can work on your basic kicking and punching technique and power any time you want what could be better than your own gym at home
also start adding this equipment
1. a double end bag or a head ache bag
2. a mirror for shadowboxing
3. a speed bag
4. a medicine ball for stomach work
try picking up these items one at a time if your not sure you want to go on a shopping spree(you can get all these items at your local sporting goods store or at www.ringside.com or better prices at www.titleboxing.com (sporting good stores are still the cheapest for bags because of the shipping charges
I have a 70# hanging heavy bag with stand,a 25# bag ,a wavemaster xxl, a B.O.B. bag, a double end bag and a headache bag, thai padds, focus mitts,a focus paddle trainingg knives, a complete set of free weights with bench and a mirror, I got most of these items either on clearance or on sale or as closeouts, I even fished a lage mirror like gyms have out of a dumpstershop around and compare prices, your wallet will thank you later

Go to www.ambersports.com/nylunthabag6.html this is the cheapest place to get a thai banana bag, it's unfilled, but it's definitely the best deal you find out there and they tell you how it to fill it as well.
