    Chalambok, Oregan City knows WHAT??

Okay I am ADVERTISING for Fairtex because of the BIGGER Picture!! Most people in America sit on their computers with NO Eternal Purpose for LIFE so they can say IGNORANT things. I did MORTGAGE my house, my family and my friends to come to Thailand and some would call it a Christian SACRIFICE to better the World. I actually am a Missionary in Thailand, “Muay Thai Missions”- www.thaibox.net and that website could DIE any day now so check it out. Mr. Wong is one of the Gracious and Giving Men in Thailand, he knows that I am a Missionary wanting to do good things through Muay Thai. Through FAIRTEX we are going to Sponsor those in NEED, open an Orphanage, help support a Widow- Street & Prison outreach. SO yes I am ADVERTISING for Fairtex, it is the Biggest Muay Thai Family in the World right now and it is just in the Baby Phase. Fairtex is taking Mauy Thai back to its ROYAL Roots and from that I will live a humble life in order to use its Fruits to bless people. With that said, it is one reason I do not like FORUMS because people can say stuff like hiding in their cars honking a horn when they really don’t have a clue about LIFE. E-mail me directly if you have anything to say that has any NEGATIVITY attached and I will fully explain anything- doc@muaythaifairtex.com PEACE.

You don't like message boards because all people do is "huff-n-puff" from behind their keyboards, yet that is exactly what you are doing now.

We all can appreciate what you're saying. Yes, the interweb is full if idiot keyboard warriors. Yes, we all understand that the best way to truly experience the lifestyle (not just the fighting style) of MuayThai is to come to Thailand to train. Yes, I'm sure we all appreciate and agree with you that Mr. Wong and the entire Fairtex organization has done and will continue to do great things for the sport.

But c'mon, no need to get preachy with us. We're an educated crowd here (mostly, LOL)

      Peace

It is ALL good & Educated people are so much FUN.

I guess I should back down a notch or so, sorry for being too serious about LIFE, I think too much about some close Students- Friends- Family that have DIED in their TWENTIES and that always reminds me how Short our Lives are here on Earth. Don’t mean to get Preachy BUT we all are Preaching something or we are Dead right?? Even Educated people will have to agree on that.

Sawadde krub Doc. Long time no see. I just had to register here, after seeing your posts. I'm glad that despite minor objections, most of us here do agree with what Doc posted. Commercialism aside, I find Doc humble and very lovable. Once you meet this guy, your skepticism will fade away. BTW I don't think Doc will be paid for recruiting new trainees, and he is probably not Fairtex PR man. He genuinely loves MT like I do and appreciates what Mr.Wong has done for MT. Same here with me.

              About your profile, Doc...lol

I actually DO agree with much Doc has to say, but he says in his profile that he is "world marketing manager for Fairtex Pattaya" so some statements really must be taken with a fair dose of skepticism. It is admirable to be doing duty in Pattaya Beach, though. As far as going to train in Thailand, the Thai themselves would like nothing more than foreign fighters/trainers to create viable muay Thai schools in their own nation, the better to prove the validity of muay Thai being a universal system of combat. Muay Thai itself is so steeped in Buddhist precepts that to understand it completely, and to teach it totally, one pretty much has to accept the culture as it is and go with the flow. But then, there is that 'other, more traditional' Fairtex nearer Bangkok, the one with Apideh as teacher... if he is still active. Not quite as exclusive as the Buddhai Sawan, but royal enough for most invitees.

I take back what i said about what position Doc has with Fairtex, since I'm not related with Fairtex. This will allow me even more freedom to express my view.
I concur with Chalambok that Thais would like foreigners to adopt MT. While I share this idealogy with Mr. Wong, I'm afraid that some Thais would like to keep the art to themselves. This is more prevailant among teachers of muay boran. They fear that foreigners will take away the culture and adulterate it. Kickboxing and K1 are the prime examples of Japanese commercialism without giving credit to MT. I don't share Thais' fear of such copy cats. K1 is a spectator sport, and kickboxing doesn't have roots.
Regarding MT being closely tied to Buddhism, I'd like to express my view that it is not so. It's steep in culture and tradition, witness Thai buddhists Thai muslims and Thai christians all participate in waikru with no second thought. Waikru is paying respect to your teacher or kru (guru), so try to include this regiment in your MT. You can pray to your lord or god if you want. The waikru will give you a relaxed mind so you can concentrate on the fight, and rammuay will warm up your muscles and joints. BTW Abhidej was my first MT teacher, but there are plenty of good teachers around. It's more important that your teacher is really good, and you can connect with him.
