  • Bangkok post article

here was an article today in Bangkok Post which would maybe also interest muay thai people. It was about the number of muay thai fighters who will be fighting in regular western boxing in olympics, and the difficulty of competing in both sports, mainly because of the different stance and rules. One guy is ranked ninth in super-welterweight division,I believe, and is the current champ at Lumpini Stadium.

Hey ltindiandaeng, thanks for the post, I have heard of a few Muay Thai fighters doing both Thai and western boxing. Am sure Apidej sit-Hirun has fought in western boxing matches, and there is Samart Payrakon (sp?) who was a champ in the 80's for both Muay Thai and boxing.
    Its food for thought.

There have been and still are lots of boxers in Thailand that compete in Muay Thai and Muay Sakhon,i agree that it would be hard, however plenty have done it with good sucess.
