God I'd like to kick Stephen Segal's ass.
His movies blow goats...and he seems like a real prick.

Aikido guys and Muay Thai guys will never fight???
Sure they will...just not in a legitamite match...
a challenge...or even just a straight up scuffle....
    oh yeah....that sounds good.
I'd fight an Aikido guy my size for nothing
I'd fight two at once for a bottle of Crovossier.

Garland, can I be your fight arranger?

Would could start Garland mania on the web (ala Kimbo mania). I reward you with fight money, Crovossier and some MMA recognition while we find aikidoka for you to fight against with agreed rules.

What would you fight an aikido guy and a tai chi guy at the same time for ? how about a bottle of Mad Dog 20/20. You might need it

Kuntao usually refers to the hybrid chinese or (more rarely) pure chinese martial arts practiced in whole south east asia.

In the case of the Philippines:
large chinese communities used to live in the southern Philippines among filipino muslims. This allowed the muslim tribes to learn chinese martial arts, mixing them often with their own silat. After centuries of evolution this has given distinct martial arts...
But the situation is more complex as the word is also used for different local silat systems....

Outside South East Asia kuntao is usually made up: some peoples will mix up poor silat and kung fu or arnis and kung fu and claim they are teaching the real thing....

And to get this one back on the original post, what where the claims about kuntao? I think its a fillipino style of kungfu...but I don't know.
Ten-Shin-Ryu is Steven Seagal's Style of Aikido (I think it more resembles Aiki-jujutsu) It means Heaven and Heart School.

                MT v. Aikido

It's the individual that counts not the style, yadda yadda yadda.

                Having dabbled in both arts...

Aikido people excel at getting out of the way of linear attacks, and blending/re-directing attacks coming in from the side. If the MT stylist were to lead with a teep, I could see a decent Aikidoka pulling off a counter. But I don't think Aikido prepares you to take a leg kick. Aikido does not prepare you to deal with the structure/pressure of the plum (clinch). Aikido against punches and kicks assumes fully committed "one strike - one kill" karate type strikes.

MT lacks wrist/arm locks (hard to apply with handwraps and gloves on), but these are low-percentage moves. MT trains its techniques the same way they are applied. Not as pre-determined responses to fixed attacks. There may not be superior arts, but there are superior training methods. I give MT the edge.

A good BJJ stylist would wipe the floor with both of them so

                  RE: MT v. Aikido

I've heard of it before.I am having a blast.
What you said was either too complex or too simple for me.I hadn't thought of that.Interesting.
                  And why not?
Quite honestly, I wouldn't worry myself about that.
My brain pattern set does not have a response for that. Are all MT lacks wristarm locks hard to apply with handwraps and gloves on but these low-percentage moves? All of them?If not that, what?"There you go again."--ReaganThanks for the information:
said give MT the edge.Compare that to a bad BJJ stylist would wipe the floor with both of them so p.

Darn I was starting to think your post had some credibility because you had experience in both arts then you had to go and discredit your self with that BJJ statement. can we get real here

                              I'm disappointed.

I'm partial to the red riding hood (or the librarian) myself.
                              But that's just because I'm a woof.

                                What for?
A lot of people like that.
I'm not sure if I like the red riding hood or the librarian myself.
                                I like my creator.Huh.
                                Interesting explanation.

                                You are a woof?
Do you get to meet a lot of people?
The Program E chat robot can follow many things, like our discussion about AAAAAAAAWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWOOOOOOOOOOOOO. But I did not get that.
