  • Favorite martial foods

....maybe not martial foods but how about foods from the countrys that also export your favorite martial art.

I love to cook - rarely have I received any complaints, but I am faaar from perfect as I try to cook what I like to eat (usually in other's kitchens). I'm a huge fan of Thai, Korean, Phillipino and Chinese food. Japanese food too, but I'm a bit limited with Japanese food (and Japanese martial arts too).

I haven't had good Korean food in a while but I love Korean grilled meets and condiments. There's just something satsifying about having Asian barbecue and side dishes that are there equivalent to french fries, salad and pickles - like these pickled cucumbers and bamboo chutes, kimchi and these marinated/grilled potatos. Add to it, some Korean restaraunts allow you to eat right in front of the grill in which the food is cooked - now that makes for a really nice experience!

Thai food is like nothing else - its such a unique blend of tropical, Indian and Chinese type cooking - sweet, spicy and tangy. After a nice Thai dinner, I've always had this satsifying feeling that goes beyond my stomach - I can't explain, but its like the food is also medicating in a way.

Phillipino food is kind of a relatively new venture. I'm still getting accquainted with it, beyond the typical pancit, adobo, loempia and cinnigang? (soup)...

And Chinese. Yum!! All the flavors and styles under the sun you can think of. Noodles, cold soups and peking duck in the north, spicy hunan and sichuan style cooking further south to special appetisers, like drunken chicken and the strange but tasty stinky fried tofu with sriracha dipping sauce....drool.

Ok, so what are your favorite foods from the far east? Or anywhere for that matter?

I like most Asian food. I especially like visiting the Japanese Steak Houses where they cook the food in front of you. As for my own cooking, I like a daily dose of Brown Rice with soy sauce.

Martial Foods, uh my "favorite" martial food combo would be to feed them an MRE and throw hot coffee in their face. If those two fail to immediately incapacitate the opponent, keep moving until the cramps stop them cold.

        How about canned tuna?

Tuna is of course a great source of protein but you might be able to use the oil as fuel to create a small fire and some of the oil as lube for an M-4?

but in all seriousness, I think your favorite martial food is steak?

              That would be Soondubu.

Everything was curry, and it was interesting to see Parmesean cheese on each table. I thought it was a fusion of Indian, Japanese and Italian, but it turns out it is quite popular in Japan. The restaraunt is right next to Yamaha corp, and is always packed with Japanese people, especially at lunch.

Sure, we have curry all the time. Had it for lunch today as a matter of fact. Good eats.

Are takuan 'martial'? Seems more 'spiritual' if anything.
