  • How long until my endurance for pushups increase?

    I've been doing them for the past three or so weeks My max is about 40....i'm trying to be able to knockout 40 without getting winded.

    If the problem is that your getting winded than you need more cardio, not more push ups. Jumping rope and/or wind sprints would probably help a lot.

        Well, when you can't do anymore push-ups try holding yourself in place as long as you can. That will push your limits further. Another thought, although three weeks isn't very long sometimes your muscles stop improving because they get used to doing the same exercises so you have to change things up to shock them into improving. Try different variations like elevating your feet when you do them, or claping with each rep, or puting your hands close together when you do them.

            As others have said change it up a bit to scock the muscles. I have also fiound that "burning out" helps me as I am a hard gainer. Do as many pushups as you can until failure. Rest for 2 minutes then do as many as you can again. Wait another 2 minutes and repeat. Do 5 sets.
