  • training again

well, now I'm starting to get better from epstein barr, and i need to get into training again! So do you guys have any advice? I'm pretty much at zero when it coms to physical shape, and i want to get up into shape again as soon as possible.. any good tips?

    1. Decide on what "shape" you want to be in. Fitness is very specific. Is a weightlifter fitter than a marathon runner? If it is for fighting, then include an aerobic base (perhaps working up to the stage were you can briskly run for 20 minutes without stopping. Then work up to some anaerobic work, as well as strength and flexibility.

    2. Monitor and record your progress. It is motivational, as well as useful.

    3. Don't overdo it. If you kill yourself early on all you'll do is give up. Work up to those bigger acheivements over time.

    4. Include recovery time. Working out everyday is hard on you, both physically and mentally. 3 or 4 good sessions per week should be enough. Remeber the word "good" though.

    5. Be consistent. Keep it up. Progress can appear to be slow at times. But keep it up or, 6 monbths from the time you give up will fly by, and you'll spend your time wondering just how fit you would have been if you kept it up.

    Hope this helps.

Only you know your own body. Building up an aerobic base with running for a few weeks is probably a wise thing to do. But some light bag work can help keep things interesting.
