  • Any qi meditations, qiqong meditations to HELP me get over this cold

Any one know of any meditations to help being sick, something to flush out toxins and maybe help my blood cells do what they normally do. I know meditating helps, and ima do that, but if any one knows specific practices or, shiht, anything to help being so sick, i would be very grateful. for now im gonna hit the water and practice some tai chi standing meditations

If meditation helps, then by all means meditate, but you seem so miserable that I would think REST is what you need. When I get that sick I take medications to ease the symptoms and get as much sleep as possible.

In a way Sean Dempsey's advise is actually valid. Narcotize yourself and get lots of sleep. Also don't forget to nourish yourself. Plenty of wholesome nutrtious foods like hot soups and hot oatmeal with honey and fruits and lots of rest.

This is not meditation, but it's a breathing method which should produce just as good an effect, if not better.

First, relax completely. Sit upright in a chair and remove all tension from the upper body. Let the jaw and throat open, and exhale to produce a voiceless and barely audible sound. Continue breathing out through the mouth slowly for as long as you can. Then bend the upper body forward slightly (about 10degrees) and let out the remaining air. From this position, inhale slowly through the nose and imagine your whole body becoming saturated with air from the toes up to the head. Next, regain the upright posture and direct more air to the back of your head, finishing the breathing in. Repeat the cycle. remain completely relaxed all the way through and do not let the chest expand or contract.

It is good to do this 30mins each day, even if done in small seperate sessions eg. two 15min sessions, but done for any amount of time in a day it should help to clean your blood and strengthen your immune system, as well as to help your whole body.

That's cool. Are you into the internal arts?

Taijiquan is very relaxing and good for circulation too. Internal arts are something else, huh.

No meditation is going to cure a cold, regardless. Meditation can't affect the immune system.

A really huge, long bath. Which you keep hot. it may not be meditation but tis certainy relaxing - it helps to have a good book too . Seriosly i could a big cold and felt awful - had a 4 hour bath and felt great. its been proven that the cold virus has optimum breeding conditions in a cold nose - so make it warm. The steam helps too (especially if you've smoked a bit o hash recently)
