In my Army Days, we were taught that when we are Ambushed then we are supposed to ATTACK. Can you apply this to unarmed combat or martial arts situations? I think you can. I was ambushed early this week while walking down a drug infested street ( On job related business). Instinctively from my Army and martial arts training I attacked. I mean it was a military style ambush as I was walking along. The only difference was my attacker was unarmed or never got to pull his concealed weapon. I immediately went into defensive/attack mode including a Kia (attack yell). No time for talking or dialogue. Every second was critical.
Can anybody relate to this thread? Did the Army (for those of you who were in the Army) teach you; when you are Ambushed--Attack. It may save your life or save you from being seriously injured. It saved me this week. Thanks Uncle Sam.
