i meant his intentions for acting. i know he wanted martial arts to come to the fore front to be recognized, but after that why?
what where bruces real intentions when becoming an actor?
well from what i've read on the man(which is quite alot) it would seem his intentions for getting into the acting biz, was to get the philosophy of jkd known, and to be able to spread his ideas over a wider range of audiances and people
Why do that when he could compete, hold seminars, or just teach a wider range of people?
This is a question best served to the man himself. Unfortunately for us all, he's not here to answer. He did what he did and reached as many people as he could while he was here. Why continue to sweat the issue?

Q: Why didn't he just compete?
A: bruce did not believe in competition, as it does not help in real world scenerios.
Q: Why didn't he hold seminars?
A: Because only so many people could attend, while a movie would attract millions
Q: Why not just teach a wider range of people?
A: He taught many people, had three schools open at the same time, and found time to teach celebrities, and make movies AND be with his family. As you can see his schedule was pretty hectic. He was only one man who could so many things at once. And the movies made more sense. It brought food to the table and was a smart was to introduce people to his philosophies.
Thats true. JKD wouldn't be as big as it is today if he held a few seminars for a couple hundred people rather than use movies to spread his word to millions of viewers. Good Post.
True that! True that! I see what you mean. The only thing that confuses me about that is; I read that Yip Man was against him making movies due to the exploitation of the arts. Now, when I studied Bushido, I was taught that if ones' master dissapproved of ones' actions, whom ever it was stopped what he was doing and found ways to appease his teacher.

'um...well...kinda
it was more like he didn't want bruce to film him his teacher to show others..that's what he didn't want filmed..but as far as bruce making movies, i don't think he minded that much at all
