People were smaller, weaker, slower back then. If Bruce were around today he would have added the new developments to his arsenal. He would also be an old man now. With modern training Bruce would be a smaller version of someone like Mach Sakurai, which everyone would have to admit is quite elite.
Players like Elgin Baylor, Wilt Chamberlain, Jerry West, and Oscar Robertson would match up against anyone you mentioned in the NBA. Would anybody in their right mind put anyone in center field ahead of Willie Mays, no matter what era they were from? However, your statement has a lot of truth when you look at the total picture, and is well taken.

Shaq would bust Wilt into pieces, he'd crush the skinny karreem into bits and score 200 points if he played when Wilt did. Wilt wouldnt even make the all star team if he played these days, a guy like Staodamire on Phoenix would totally own him with ease

I gotta say that in a fight Kareem would kick Shaq's bad-acting ass into oblivion.

We'll just have to agree to disagree on this one I guess. That saves us precious hours of typing and reading where the end result will be the same.

People become disallusioned about the fighting abilities of their martial arts heros. Bruce was a good fighter, but he wasn't that good. He never fought a professional level fighter. The only fights Bruce Lee ever fought was up against ordinary everyday people when he was growing up and Jack Wong Man. Jack Wong Man wouldn't last 2 minutes against a pro NHB fighter. Neither would Bruce Lee. Again, bruce was a really good fighter, but he wasn't on the level of today's pro NHB fighters. If Frank Shamrock would get inside his time machine and go back and fight Bruce i have a feeling that Frank would dump Bruce. Again, this is not meant to disrespect Bruce as he was a good fighter.

Bruce vs Frank Shammy? Frank Shamrock schooled Cung Le who is one of the best strikers in the world. It was just friendly training but Cung Le got dumped about 70 times. I don't think bruce could take Cung Le let alone Frank Shamrock.

And once again i'm not saying Bruce can't fight. I think Bruce was an above average fighter but nothing spectacular like everyone makes out.

Bruce only went to Level 5 in the wing chun system and their are 10 levels to sifuship & 16 for Master Level. He 'owned' the first 5 levels, but still had more to learn. Grandmaster William Cheung spend time tutoring B.Lee as Bruce was using modified system. GM Cheung's Protege Master Kieth Maza loves to fight Jiu Jitsu Guys; in-fact, a 30 + year veteran became his student after he matched up against Master Maza.

              Evidence???
I'd like to see some footage to substantiate that claim.

You don't need footage, I'll talk with Al when I get back from China and let him tell you himself! He'll also inform you of the vast number of Jiu Jitsu Styles he's mastered!

yeah...but his movie career didn't go nearly as well as Sigung Lee's. Did you ever see KAZAAM?

I shat blood for a week. I'd rather get a root canal sans anesthetic then go through that horror again. Watching baby seals get clubbed for half an hour followed up by scenes of incest between Bush and his father, all with Janet Reno and Condoleeza Rice take turns reading excerpts from the Tale of Two Cities and Mein Kaumpf might be less disturbing.

Yep and idiots that have never seen Shaq play in person and run their mouths never cease to amaze me either. youre a retard if you think anyone could stop shaq, ever, theres no one that could match his speed and strenght for 4 quarters. sure Kareem could do well for one quarter, but after 3 he'd be beat into a skinny lil fairy that he was and the Daddy would own him, as he would anyone. There really isnt any debate about it Shaq is the best center and most domination player ever, whos better ? LOL amuse me, and dont say Wilt, He get spanked, as would that lil guy that played on the celtics

If you can find any quote from me saying Shaq isn't a great player and dominant center, feel free to post it. I admire him, respect him, and give him his due. This is based on seeing him play many times. As far as sheer strength goes, you can pretty much throw a blanket over Wilt Chamberlain, Bill Russell, and Shaq. Kareem was a totally different type of center. No one would stop him scoring his points, and that goes for four quarters. When he decided to hustle back to play defense, he did a good job.

Back to Wilt and Shaq, if you make all things equal, supporting cast, chemistry, officiating, in their prime, everything, you have a clash of the titans. Over the course of a season, you have pretty close to .500% ball between the two teams. I say close, because it would be about a .525 winning % for Wilt's team, and .475 winning % for the Shaq team. The difference would be Wilt's fall away which no one could block.

Twenty years from now, when King Kong Krusher (or whoever) is the dominant center in the NBA, you're going to have some kid who hasn't even been born yet saying, "Oh yeah, Shaq was pretty good for the old farts of his era, but Kong would have crushed him and ground him into hamburger"! A lot of people who remember what Shaq could do will take exception, and rightfully so.
