The underlying reason why martial artist can't fight is b/c most of them aren't trained as fighters.

Stuff like what's in your post is very usefull, and helps with a mindset, but its ma training in general that has led to martial artist who can't fight. Training has become for the most part soft and recreational in most MAs. No one does anything about it b/c that's the way most people like it! Unfortunatly some people get caught in that, but...

When there's something wrong with the foundation, laying more bricks does little to remedy the situation. What we need is to fix the foundation first, then learn lessons like this one.

If someone is in a martial art that doesn't train them to fight, merely teaching them a mindset isn't enough. They need to be cultivated mind, spirit, AND body. They need real training!!!

    just some thoughts...

Dear Schizo. I believe I outlined from the outset that the coding system was not mine. I did acknowledge the person who designed it. And I am not quoting, it is all going down in my own words from memory.

Now I know you're jealous because no one ever reads your crap threads......but there's no need to try and belittle my heroic efforts. Learn from me, Schizo........ Learn from me!

Principles of Personal Defense - Jeff Cooper

Also, most of the books by Chuck Taylor, Gabe Suarez and John Farnam have the COOPER color code in them as well as a detailed breakdown.

82nd Airborne also had a similar color code, I believe it was/is made up of the colors, white, yellow, green and red.

Just do a search on Cooper color code, you'll find plenty. I might be wrong but I believe the color code popularized by Cooper in the 60's was a variation of a color code he was taught in the USMC pre-WWII.
