    So, I live in a pretty gay-friendly town and a fair number of gay men seem to find me attractive (quickly moving on to my point);

    There's a pretty big diference between somebody looking at you and then going about their business and having someone go out of their way to make sure you know they are looking. It's those guys that look, and then do a double take, and then walk over toward me and maybe follow me a few steps down the street that irritate me.

    Lizard, would I be wrong to guess that women generally don't mind a glance here and there - it's the men who can't leave it at that who are making a bad name for the rest of us?

      Yeah, I agree with that. Like as an example, at one gym guys will ask me if I need "help" using equipment I obviously know how to use already as an excuse to talk, and since it's the same three guys every time, it gets real old real quick. Also sometimes I notice guys at the gym will pretty much stop lifting when I am at the machine next to them (or other women are at the machine next to them) and continue after we're gone. I can't help but feel like my presence is stopping people from completing their workout and I don't really want to be an interruption. I suppose I should be able to ignore this and just keep doing what I'm doing... but I haven't gotten to that point yet.

        You should ignore it. Or just tell them to stop telling you that they need help. But I find the guys you mentioned who stopped lifting wierd... I mean usually guys here increase weights and do more reps when a girl is present!!

          LOL, yeah, I've seen that too. It was really funny last time I saw it, cos these guys were trying to impress the pilates instructor. She was laughing afterwards. She was like, "It's not about pain!!! People like them make me worry that I'll have to use my CPR!"

            Yeah i was at this new gym since my old gym closed for maintenance for a while and I saw this guy trying to do a dumbell incline press with about 100 lb dumbells to impress a girl. He ended up doing 2 reps with 3 guys helping him.

                I walked into curves, just to see what it is.
                4 Bikes, 3 trademills. A few mats on the floor. May be it's just the one close to me, but I was not very impressed.
