I know the term is interchangable, so no biggie.

So to rephrase, unless Royce has been lifting a lot lately, he doesn't stand a change against Matt's strength.

yep. matts stronger than that 750lb sumo that Royce twisted into a pretzle

      LOL!

i know, unless you understand the theory behind BJJ you roid pumping, iron crushers will never understand why strength means very little when facing someone of Royce's abilities.

sooooooooooooooooooooo what you are saying is that Matt Hughes, the *UFC* fighter, has seen EVERY POSSIBLE submission/sweep/technique that Royce Gracie, the son of the man that ADAPTED JIU JITSU TO WHAT IT IS TODAY, and who continues to adapt is capeable of executing?????
          Holy hell,
can we send Matt to Kenya so he can turn water into wine and bring mana from heaven? And maybe while hes there he can cure the wave of pestilence that has washed through?

You guys are acting like Matt Hughes, the same Matt Hughes that was submitted by Matt Hallman and Bj Penn, (his only mma losses BTW) cannot fall victim to a submission.

          Laughable guys.

Hughes is a joke really. As soon as he fights a real BJJ fighter, he gets tapped. Penn totally owned him, and Royce will do the same. Easy pick.

Royce has even been working his stand-up lately. When you have the technical skill he posseses on the ground all you need is a *little* stand-up and you will be fine. i just dont see Royce setting himself up for failure.

Well OP, unless you've tapped him the man has talent.

                He's kinda strong too. He's a 170-lber with a 365 bench press or something like that .

im 6'1 200lbs and i can only put up 280 on the bench press, does that mean your daddy is tougher than my daddy? what? does that mean his schwanze is bigger? actually all that means is that his is likey to be able to execute a pushup with a sumo wrestler on his back. Nothing more. Lifting mass weight means ti-ti . Technique is everything.

Hey Tap, technique is fundamental I agree but strength plays in part of the equation too. More importantly, its applying that strength properly, rather than bulk lifting.

BJ-Penn has awesome technique, but he's probably a more experienced fighter too.

i hope you understand that judo is simply an offshoot of Jiu jistsu without the joint manipulation.

"The Kodokan was founded in 1882 by the late

Prof. Kano who himself had established Judo.

                          Judo was derived from Jujitsu

which had many names and schools.

Jujitsu is an art for either attacking others

                          or defending oneself with nothing

                          but one's own body. "

I think we know who's the rip-off here.

Exactly, and "JIU-JITSU" (as spelled by the Brazilians) came straight from Kodokan Judo...(not Jujutsu)

History of Brazilian Jiu-jitsu starts with a kodokan Judoka, maybe you've heard of him? This Madea fella? The truth is that JUDO is the WAY for learning Ju-jutsu. The training methods of GJJ are Kano's. The techniques from Judo...

If Judo has no joint manipulations where do you suppose the so called "kimura" came from? It wouldn't exist without Judo...(Ude Garami)

Sorry if this hurts your feelings, eh?

Kimura was another judoka, the guy that broke Helio's arm? Perhaps you've heard of the legendary battle?

                            Maybe you should keep reading....

I still think the (GRACIE) Judo player will win by choke/strangulation in the 2nd... if he doesn't get Ko'd first.

ok, grab a pen, paper and a snack............You're about to learn something.

"Jiu-Jitsu, the oldest form of martial arts, originated in India more than 2,000 years before Christ. It spread through China and eventually settled in Japan. In 1914, Japanese jiu-jitsu champions Maeda and Inomata arrived in Brazil to help establish a Japanese immigration colony in that developing country. "

oh did that say Judo champions or Jiu jitsu??? i cant tell????

heres something else for you ..

"judo (jū'dō) , sport of Japanese origin that makes use of the principles of jujitsu, a weaponless system of self-defense. Buddhist monks in China, Japan, and Tibet developed jujitsu over a period of 2,000 years as a system of defense that could be used against armed marauders and yet would not be in conflict with their religion. Jigoro Kano, a Japanese jujitsu expert, created judo (1882) by modifying or dropping many holds that were too dangerous to be used in competition. It depends for success upon the skill of using an opponent's own weight and strength against him, thus enabling a weak or light individual to overcome a physically superior opponent."

                                Jiu Jitsu.....then Judo.....Got it????

Judo is simply a safer adaptation of jiu jitsu...
and as for Kimura and helio...dont speak about history unless you know what you are talking about. the "key lock" as it was known before Kimura broke Helios arm was used in Jiu jitsu for thousands of years before Kimura used it....the Brazillians are the ones that gave it his name out of respect.

                                anything else for me jack-off?
