He will say: "Glory to Thee! never could I say what I had no right (to say). Had I said such a thing, thou wouldst indeed have known it. Thou knowest what is in my heart, Thou I know not what is in Thine. For Thou knowest in full all that is hidden. "Never said I to them aught except what Thou didst command me to say, to wit, 'worship God, my Lord and your Lord'; and I was a witness over them whilst I dwelt amongst them; when Thou didst take me up Thou wast the Watcher over them, and Thou art a witness to all things.“ (5:116-117)

Qu'ran and the Bible are contradicting accounts of Jesus life and ministry. You chose the Qu'ran for your view point and I for my view the Bible. So this conversation would more so go into a debate on who has the true revelation of Jesus nature. Is He God? Or is He just a Prophet? From your perpective I believe whole heartedly that He is a good and great man without contradicting mine own beliefs that He is God in the flesh. Prophet of God and Son of God, one in the same to me according to bilblical teaching. In thought we are at a 50-50 stand still but are different on how we acknowledge the King of kings. I myself use to get down with the Qu'ran in my search for truth. But know and I don't mean to offend - but its the truth Jesus Is lord and my Qu'ran went in the trash. When you search for truth you'll always find Jesus there! Read John 14th-16th chapter with John14:6,7
    being the key scriptures.

An I don't put Mary in of my prayers. She was just a chosen vessel who birthed the Lord into the world. Other than that she has no dealings with the trinue Godhead. (Read Matthew 12:46-50 and draw your own conclusion on Mary the mother of God with special attention on verse 50.) -PEACE-
well, one of my problems with the new testament is the variations in the accounts of jesus's life. someone mentioned that the new testament is accurate, but how can this be when each gospel says something different? like for example, matthew and mark claim that jesus' last words were "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?" , while luke and john both claim that jesus said different things at his time of death. so even when the gospels were written so long ago there seems to have been much controversy over what really happened regarding the life of jesus.

I heard a theologan claim that Jesus may have hooked up with the Essene cult in his teens and smoked a bit of ceremonial hashish...I also heard that smoking bud may have been the "new wine" at Canna, as well as an the last supper and the fire and smoke of the holy spirit at the pentecost.

      Any thoughts???

Seriously...this is a stance promoted by the Ethiopian Zion Coptic Church, and they do have some evidence to suggest and lend credibility to these (pun intended) far out statements.

Face it...Jesus was like Jim Morrison, but cooler because he was black.

That sound like the Rastafarian religon. Where they believe king Haile Salassie I the Ethiopian Emperor was God, stealling from the scriptures to support there stance in the communtiy of spiritaulity.

Now as for the Essenes; quoting from the "Holman Illustrated Bible Dictionary": Members of a jewish sect that existed in Palestine during the time of Christ. They are not mentioned in the NT. They were ascetics who pratice community of goods(common wealth), generally shunned marriage, refrained from attending worship in the temple, and attached great importance to the study of the scriptures (OT).

(2Timothy 4:1-3)-->Now the Spirit speakth expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; speaking lies and hypocrisy, having their conscience seared with hot iron; Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God have created to be received with thanksgiving of them which belive and know the truth.

Before the bible was translated from the greek to engilsh, sorcery was under the name in the greek-Phamakia. Translating it to the english as Pharmacy, which is known as DRUGS. What did pharmakia do? Answer: alters the perception of ones thinking (getting high - weather smoked out etc). After the altered thinking witchcraft takes place-->anything or one minipulating the mind from it's right state, or altered thinking.
Jesus gets the glory - I'm high in the Spirit of the Lord.
Keep it sober we need our mind-Z. -PEACE- love and hair grease.

Catholics and Christian are two different sect of religious bodies. One thing out of line are the rituals Catholics go through. This Mary worship which is not doctrinal. So you didn't renouce the God of the Bible. You got to read it for yourself with a mind looking for truth before you bash it and say it's not real.

Christians will differ on their opinion of catholics, but I take Jack Chick's stance, roman catholics aren't Christian, a lot of their traditions, doctrines, is man-centered; I mean when I was catholic, it drew me away from God, I mean I thought I had to become a catholic priest to be closer to God... needless to say I don't have very many positive things to say about catholicism so I'll stop saying stuff now...
